Sinan Tansal: The Designer Who Brings Craftsmanship to Life

Born in 1964 in Adana, Sinan Tansal is a multi-talented artist known for his roles as a dentist, musician, and designer. In addition to his musical career with the bands Mavisakal, Karapaks, and İnsanlar, he is also recognized in the film industry for his prosthetic dental designs. However, his lifelong fascination with knives opened the door to another creative journey.

This interest led Tansal to initially design knife handles, then progress to crafting pocket knives, and eventually kitchen knives. By skillfully combining recycled materials and various other substances, he creates unique knife handles. He pairs these handles with steel blades he personally processes, resulting in exclusive designs. Since beginning this journey in 2014, he has continued it with his brand KROP, operating from his store in Karaköy, Istanbul.

Sinan Tansal has brought the first designs of the Pirge Handmade series to life. His collaboration with Pirge has been a great source of inspiration for both our brand and craftsmanship-based designs.
